I highly recommend this book

Hematology in Practice is straight forward and I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a solid understanding of the most important concepts behind the tests performed in a modern hematology laboratory. Some textbooks today make it difficult for hematology students and lab prefessionals alike to figure out what it is that they "really need to know" to be effective and competent in the lab. Hematology in Practice addresses exactly this problem.
In addition, this book will give a student an understanding that is more than good enough to pass general and categorical licensing exams. Had a book like this existed earlier in my career, it certainly would have saved me a lot of time and confusion.

love the book!

As an associate professor who has taught medcial laboratory technician students for the past 16 years, I find the Ciesla textbook to be far superior to any text I have used in the past. The book is clear and concise and includes a complete laboratory manual. What I especially like is that Ms. Ciesla did not "farm out" sections of the book for others to write. As a result, her writing style is consistent and understandable. My students love the book and I have used the book for 3 terms now.
