inconsistent writing, glitchy student version

I've worked through chapter 3 of this book and already, there are several problems:
1. For some of the commands, there seems to be a glitch that doing them twice or three times will get it to work (especially with forecasting).
2. The book will give instructions that render limitations in the student version, for example, a task in chapter 2 will cause a workfile to get so large you can't save it in the student version. A task in student 3 uses the program function which DOES NOT EXIST in the student version. If they disable these options they shouldn't add the tasks in the work book - because for the program task, obviously YOU CAN'T DO IT.
3. The instructions seem to be written by different people from chapter to chapter. In 2, steps are skipped because a task is repeated. In 3, specific and detailed instructions are given for everything.
I'm sure it provides a basic level of instruction on how to use eViews but it clearly was not well edited and organized to be consistent.

This is an excellent complement to Principles of Econometrics (POE) for students and instructors. The datasets gathered by the authors of POE are very teaching-like and useful for the practice of econometrics. I strongly recommend POE.

Good self study guide!

I like this book since the book help me to understand the matter in deep. Together with the computer supplement books EViews, I learn lot about econometric, theory and practice. I find that this book is very useful for both.
