Best Case-based Text in Ophthalmology!

Excellent case-based text for a wide audience range - residents, oral board preparation, and maintenance of certification. Although not intended to be a comprehensive text, it is highly complementary to the home study course for residents and covers the key cases in which a practicing ophthalmologist should be familiar. This is ideal for the candidate seeking a self-directed alternative to more expensive formal review courses. In addition, the most current literature and preferred practice patterns are integrated into the text. I have purchased many other case books for oral board review and this text is superior in my opinion.

Nice case based learning

I bought this book to study for oral boards. I felt it did a nice job covering many of the topics that are always tested. It is arranged to allow you to test yourself with a case and related questions on one page, then you turn the page for answers. The answers are more arranged for general learning rather than structured to the board exam format, so it could be useful to residents during training too. I felt like I needed to go beyond what they offered in the optics section to feel prepared, but overall a well designed and current review book.

decent review book but not the best photos (kindle version)

decent review book but not the best fundus photos (kindle version). It had a lot of pathology slides and I don't think the boards would expect a diagnosis from certain presentations that were shown. But all-in-all I am happy that I bought it.
